Life is full of many challenges and we have to remember this is a temporary place we are passing through. The sooner we place God in the center of our life the more answers we’ll find in solving any problems. If we seek God he assures us we will find him if in fact we search with our whole heart. “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart”.(Jeremiah 29:11-13).

It is written there is a broad way many people find that leads to destruction and this way will never get them to heaven. There is a very narrow way and this way will lead to heaven (eternal life) and very few find it. “Enter ye in at the straight gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because straight is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it”.(Matthew 7:13,14).

The book of Luke tells us to strive to enter at the straight gate. To strive is not an easy task for it means to devote serious energy for an endeavour, to struggle in opposition. How true that the way to eternity is a struggle! Imagine how Jesus must of felt when he strived to tell a world which had it’s own way of serving God, but that his doctrine was the one true only way to heaven. “Strive to enter in at the straight gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are: Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and though hast taught in our streets. But he shall say, I tell you, I know ye not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity”.(Luke 13:24-27). The very end of this passage gives us the answer if we continue in iniquity (sin) he will not allow us into heaven. This is why repentance is so important and he is merciful and will forgive us if we turn to serve him and reject a sinful life!

People lose sight that God is ever watchful over our ways for he neither slumbers not sleeps and the darkness is as the light to him which means we cannot hide anything from him. Why gain all that a temporary world offers and lose your own soul, when heaven is promised to us if we are obedient to such a kind and loving God. Remember the word strive when your going through difficult times of your life and know that there are other brethren fighting the good fight of faith as you are. Yes life is a struggle, but to gain eternal life will be well worth it! “Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God”.(Acts 14:22).

narrow gate Plain and simple we are told flesh and blood cannot inherit heaven, so if we focus on what God has for us (Spiritual) and not what the flesh (world) can offer us we will see a change for the better and God will be right there by your side and will never leave you or forsake you. “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not”.(Galatians 6:7-9).
